Current Project

Engineers With a Mission members are currently working in partnership with Seneca Hills Bible Camp -- a Christian summer camp and retreat center in Franklin area. The team will design nine Bible-themed holes and build at least three.Years ago, Seneca Hills had a mini golf course but it has since been neglected and no longer remains. This project will help restore what was once a fun, competitive atmosphere for kids and adults alike.Join us as we start our journey of craftsmanship in partnership with Seneca Hills Bible Camp!

Projects

Welcome to our project showcase! The following endeavors have been thoughtfully selected by our students, guided by our dedicated advisor, all aligning with our club's mission: 'To be the hands and feet of Christ by helping communities around the world develop the ability to sustainably maintain their basic human needs.' Explore how our engineering initiatives are making a positive impact on communities and embodying the essence of our mission.

LIFE International Robotics Program

EWM students will be undertaking the creation of small-scale educational robotics projects. The primary objective is to collaborate with LIFE International School in Spain, imparting knowledge on engineering methods, robotics, and fostering hands-on collaboration. Through this initiative, students aim to provide practical educational experiences, promoting the understanding and application of engineering principles in a real-world context.

Envision Cleveland Aquaponics

EWM members designed, constructed, and implemented an aquaponics system for a Cleveland community garden. Designed to be entirely off the grid and self-sustaining, this system utilizes the ecosystem interaction between aquatic life and the filtration of plant life to maintain the garden’s growth. Powered by an array of solar panels, this system is entirely green.

Grove City Community Garden

EWM members designed and implemented a gravity-based drip water irrigation system for Grove City Middle School. This sustainable system collects rainwater, distributing it to four grow beds supplying fresh produce to the community. Additionally, EWM is building compost systems that gather compost from the community and college cafeterias, enriching Grove City Middle School's community garden with nutrient-rich compost.

TakaTaka Plastics Washer

EWM members collaborated with Takataka Plastics in Uganda to develop a cost-effective washing machine for recycling plastic materials. Recognizing the inefficiency of hand washing, the main goal was to create a simple, low-cost machine for washing shredded plastics. This initiative aimed to address impurities in recycled plastics, such as oils and dirt. Through design, construction, and testing, EWM aimed to improve efficiency, cut labor costs, and contribute to a more sustainable plastic recycling process, targeting a washing rate of 30-340kg/hr.

Our Story

Engineers with a Mission was founded by students at Grove City College in 2020. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to utilize the technical skills of our members for meaningful service projects. Whether it's designing innovative solutions, implementing sustainable technologies, or collaborating on community-driven projects, we're committed to applying our technical expertise to address pressing societal needs
