ENGINEERS
WITH A
MISSION
Current Project
Engineers With a Mission members are currently working to design and build a rain catch drip irrigation system and a hopper style compost system for the local Grove City Middle School. The middle school and surrounding community maintain a garden designed to foster involvement and education for the students and town members.
Situated in a courtyard next to the school building, the garden is centered around a gazebo with five rows of plant beds extending outwards. Rainwater removal currently relies on gutters installed on the gazebo roof to direct the excess water away from the garden. Accessing and storing the collected rainwater for the garden will allow those tending to the plants a reliable and controlled release of the water for each plant bed. The second half of this project tasks our engineers to research and construct a compost system for the garden. Working with Grove City College, the middle school and Engineers With a Mission will supply the compost system with local waste ultimately improving the sustainability of the community garden.
